Can I see your driver’s license?

    No.

I mean… I’m not sure how he expected the conversation to go from there.

You ARE required to identify yourself. Beyond that, you don’t have to answer any questions.

    Idk, stop antagonizing the law?

The driver in question received many tickets over a period of time.

When the driver saw a police officer, they flip them off, committing contempt of cop.

The police probably without sufficient probable cause pulled him over, and he refused to provide his identification and he got arrested

I’m glad they are exercising their freedom of speech, but they are clearly a edge case, a reasonable person would not taunt the police and expect to have a peaceful day.

Yes. Being polite shouldn’t matter, but we have to acknowledge the human on the other side of the government.

          Why?

If you choose to become an enforcer for the state do you really deserve any more than open contempt?

Or just that maybe it’s not a good idea to provoke the police. The guy who did this is obviously a dumbass. The best strategy is to be invisible to police.

If you’re going to exercise your free speech like this, you need a dashcam (front and rear) for your own protection. You can’t break any laws, not even 1mph over the speed limit. Turn signal every time. This is the way.
