Been using ubuntu for almost 15 years. My annoyance with snap made me just switch to bazzite (gaming focused fedora atomic ). Takes a little getting used to since its immutable but im liking it alot more so far.

Yup. Has an easy docker setup. Also if you have a kobo you can sync your shelfs wirelessly. Love it

yep lazylib for books and mags. that feed calibre which cleans and converts to kepub, then that all is synched to nas for calibre-web

there are people that only use lazylib as it has odps server aswell

i use calibre on desktop to clean uip library like you. After any updates i sync it to a dir on my nas that calibre web uses. its a really good setup and passes the wife test

look at calibreweb for web front end. it is VERY good, It even syncs to my kobo wirelessly. love that app

I have a perfectly functional ds416 but its old too. I bought a newer model as my 416 mirrors data to it. Its a backup of my backup.

The main reason i did it is support for future updates including security patches. The 416 doesnt autoipdate anymore i have to dl a seperate file and update. Im concerned how much longer it will get security patches. When it goes end of life i can easily make the newer box my main nas. Ill probably do it next year regardless.

There are people working on the gui. But honestly once it clicks its easy street. I highly suggest the discord. A ton of people running it for a while and very helpful. Say hi to codeslave there. (Me)

Sco xenix way back when was required for work. I decided to run it on my desk Then i had to work on sun machine for a few years. So ive really never been a windows person except for games. Once wine then proton atrted letting me game even a little then i got rid of every windows install i had and replaced with linux

Ytdl-sub is what you want. Does allmost all of that. Has sets up nfo and plex. Really great app. Takes a bit to config but the dev is ver responsive and is on discord all the time.

What distro? Might be gnome only. Im on latestest budgie and cant add. Theres github issues etc. I can edit the file by hand and it works so no biggie but its a long standing issue
