Most CFA locations are franchises, meaning employee treatment varies wildly. I was paid $8/hr and worked 73 hour weeks. By contrast, the location down the street from me advertises $18/hr.

Many of them, yes. They’re among the most radical of the leftist instances, which means that they attract a lot of propagandists and tankies. They have some perfectly reasonable people too, but you know, vocal minority. Its the main thing most people notice about those instances.
Many people block hexbear, Lemmy.ml, and lemmygrad for these reasons.
What is your budget and needs? Used thinkpads from a certain time period are very hardy, but they’re getting old enough now for performance to be an issue for anything beyond basic web browsing and word processing.
Framework also makes laptops with the explicit goal of being more repairable. Even if you decide not to work on it yourself, it would be trivial for a repair shop to fix most things that could go wrong.
Yeah, SI wages in Europe are way lower than north america. I wanted to move when I was bartending, and then I figured out I’d be lucky to make a third of what I was here.
I did almost 3x that as a bartender two years ago in Dallas.
Tbh the idea of a server working for less than $20/hr is insane to me.
Doesn’t it? That’s where the wrinkles on your knuckles come from. Your skin forms wrinkles where it creases often.
They want the right kind of babies.
“Welfare babies” are babies born to poor and working class parents.
They want middle class white people breeding like rabbits, though.
Most of us do. A few people do sign up for variable rate plans, and they did get astronomical bills during the snowpocalypse. IIRC they didn’t get any aid or anything, it was a small enough number of people that they just got hung out to dry.
Nice bar: whatever menu cocktail or specialty product looks good.
Okay bar: Amaro/mezcal if they have it, gin/rum if they don’t.
Not very good bar: beer or cider
Bad bar: bottle beer. No cans, mixers, or taps, and well pours only if truly desperate.
Meters are fine too, they’re basically just yards.
Kilometers, degrees Celsius, and kilograms can fuck right off.
I don’t think so, mostly because those companies are some of the worst manipulators of our democracy.
In terms of actually helping to manufacture weapons, there are necessary and ethical uses for those weapons, and you as an individual cannot choose where they go. Not an issue IMO.
Not even on the same scale. Female circumcision is the complete removal of the clitoris and large portions of the labia. It is usually done to teens, carried out via acid, and without anesthesia.
A circumcised dick at least still works fine, and you don’t remember it if it’s done when you’re an infant.
Tl;Dr: The Old Testament is included for history and context. Part of the thing Jesus does is free them from having to follow the old laws, which is why pastors quoting Leviticus to justify ostracizing gay people (or anything else) are full of shit.
Preventing religious people from circumcising their kids would violate their religious liberties in the US.
Mostly though, nobody cares.
Unless you’re talking about “female circumcision” which is a totally different and way more horrific thing.
If it is by the consent of the rest of the states, then yes. I’m not aware of any existing legal process, but a constitutional amendment could fix that.
Such a thing is unlikely to ever happen. Territory means people, infrastructure, and resources, so it’s almost always better to hold onto it, unless you can’t defend it.
DivestOS is an excellent project, but it is very different from GrapheneOS from both a security and privacy point of view.
As a service industry worker, I wouldn’t bother. We generally treat it as a “cool they left money for some reason”.
I live across the street from a university. College towns are great, because they tend to be interesting, quirky, affordable, and upbeat.
Living next to the actual college sucks because of drunk, unruly students. Make sure you get a place on the far side of any bars or 24/7 restaurants from the campus or dorms.
SimpleX was the best for my purposes when I looked, but Briar is a compelling option as well.
The case can also be made for element, but it lacks forward secrecy and honestly the app kinda sucks.
“I don’t really get why people get so up in arms about discussing it, but Sex is fun. Be careful though, those swimmers are persistent little fuckers.”
“Drugs feel good and you think everything is fine until one day you look up and realize it all went wrong years ago. I can’t stop you, but I really hope you’ll choose not to try them.”
I think both worked out well. I’m sex positive and I generally avoid drugs because it just isn’t worth the risk of finding that one substance that totally ruins my life.
