Hello everyone!

Something I haven’t seen discussed that much is power consumption in the cellular chips of the new iPhones. Everything seems to focus around CPU/GPU recently.

I remember when 3G first came out, the chips were extremely power hungry until a couple generations later. Is the same true with the iPhone modems? I’m wondering if the 15 Pro will have reduced power consumption on 5G uwb vs the 14 Pro.

Thanks!

The 14 Pro uses Qualcomm’s x65 modem. Since the 15 Pro models aren’t out in the wild yet I’m not sure anyone knows what exact modem is in there but Qualcomm does produce a better modem now, the x70. I’d imagine that will be the modem present in this year’s iPhones. Qualcomm claims the x70 is more efficient and lower latency.
