See if your VPN has DNS content blockers
Does your vpn provider have dns blocking features? They might have adblocking capabilities.
Not sure you can, unless you’re using a Pi Hole. Vanadium doesn’t accept plugins to my knowledge.
I realize this doesn’t answer your question directly, but why not Cromite? It isn’t as security focused as Vanadium, but it does come with two separate ad block systems built in.
I second it, chromite is brilliant, a little bit clunky sometimes, but brilliant
Vanadium is not really an advanced browser, not sure how it even differs from chromium

Does this work while you are on VPN? As I understood it, the VPN would override your system level DNS settings when it was connected.
It depends on the VPN that you are using, some come with their own DNS server, others use the DNS server on your system.
