Good news on one of your requests! There seems to already be a piracy community here.
Yeah, I think I found it, LOL 😂. I can’t seem to find a search option on Jerboa, but I logged in through the browser, you can search in there.
It’s the 3 stacked lines icon on the bottom bar, beside the Home icon. It seems like that if you input part of the community name, it’ll find it, but it doesn’t seems to find communities by topic or anything like that.
That is… competely unintuitive 🤨… like why not just have a spyglass icon there, why the hamburger thing 🤨… maybe it’s a bug 🤷.
Yeah, it searches only by community name, not by topic, but hey, reddit works the same way (almost) and I didn’t really mind that.
What bugs me is the URL handling, it keeps redirecting me to a browser, then I have to copy the instance-community link and copy it back here for the search 😒.

The search redirects me within the app, but links for communities in comments seem to open in the browser. Seems that that are still some bugs here and there in the app.

I personally use Reddit to see a couple memes and then read both of the subs I mentioned. I like seeing people who are passionate about a thing talk about the history of that thing.
