It still runs decently, I often forget it’s a 10 year old machine. I boot Ubuntu on it for work though, and boot Windows on it for the occasional game. It’s a useful machine.

3·1 month agoI get that too right before I fall asleep! At least when I’m sleeping in public. My brain distorts and abstracts what’s going on around me into a weird half dream. Then I fall asleep.
Is printing cumbersome and difficult on Linux? Yes, it can be. Is it better than Windows? Also yes.

What I stand up in AWS I don’t know how it works. How an I going to expect a hacker to figure it out?

The popping sound is a feature, not a bug. How else can you tell if your toast is ready when you’re doing something else when getting ready in the morning?

10·2 months agoWhen switching from flux core wire to regular wire with shielding gas on my welder it calls to reverse the polarity of the electricity to the welding gun. You have to open it up and swap two wires around. It always cracks me up inside when I’m telling people I had to reverse the polarity of the welder to get a better weld.
My understanding is that most (at least rock) music is mixed this way, just subtle enough to help your brain pick out instruments but not enough to consciously notice.
$40 and poorly received, critics rating it much worse than the free to play hero shooters on the market.
I’ve got Ubuntu on my 2015 MacBook that worked out of the box except dedicated/integrated graphics switcher and the webcam. I also installed Windows which Apple puts out official drivers for. It’s just a computer, you can plug in a USB drive and install other operating systems just the same as any other laptop.
