Nah you got it perfect! (Also holy shit I didn’t expect to find a volapük learner on Lemmy)

Nah genetic disorders aren’t mutations, they’re incorrect copies of original traits. I’m not a geneticist so don’t quote me on this, but the reason incest causes problems has nothing to do with mutations as they rarely happen and everything to do with not having enough variation in your own genetics to cover when there’s “data loss”. Again, I’m not a scientist.
Unfortunately some of these words don’t quite click.
Yeah like everyone wonders a little bit whether there is an intrinsic grammar to human biology but saying there are feature/s that every language shares is a strange and reductionist claim.
This is just silly. Your group of people has never done anything bad so it’s all okay is never a good argument since people are all pretty much the same (I mean it’s wrong to treat people differently depending on the actions of people within the same wider group)
Lots really aren’t
On that we agree, yeah it is awful the shit people have to put up with hiding that they’re trans or gay for fear of any number of horrifying things. But everyone I’ve met from the south isn’t like that, I’m gay and it’s never been brought up once, hell their daughter is too and she’s open about it with no issue which is a super brave thing to do. I’m not saying don’t be critical of your culture (it’s pretty much a requirement for progress) I’m just saying that an outsider looking in and saying that everyone is awful is always a bad thing.
The KKK isn’t a culture they’re a cult and they’re not a group you’re born into, to be a member requires that you be violently racist whereas to live in the south you just exist so the comparison really isn’t fair. I will again say that it’s never alright to dislike people for existing alone
Man just stop being a dick, I’m super close with a huge southern family and a ton of their friends and every single one was a super nice person and they weren’t in their home country, it’s not okay to hate a group of people or a culture as a whole
Cleo Abrams did a good video on that and her conclusion is that if the stuff does work it’s not some magic reversal or absolute no aging ever technology, I think we’ve got a whole world away before we can get no aging. Adding a few years to someone’s life or more realistically preventing diseases due to faulty organs is something we can all benefit from. I don’t even know if this stuff will be done during my lifetime but I can hope that the next generation won’t have to watch themselves break down slowly.
This is gold
For a maths essay I’m doing a solution on the position of arms to reach a specific point which I personally think is going quite well and my brother has a toy robot arm that can be programmed, my world domination is all but assured.
Honestly same I’d use my robot arm for good rather than evil.
Interestingly heat spreads better than cold (I’m not an entirely reliable source for this so take it with a big grain of salt) but essentially since hot things are more energetic they have a tendency to spread but since cold things are more static, cooling is more difficult. Also radiators use blackbody radiation to emit heat via light the same way metal heats up when hot whereas there’s no cold equivalent to this.
Ah shit man I thought cthulu agreed to be chill for a bit longer
I’m really curious what the process for it forming was like too but just gonna put it out there that gender in language generally has more to do with tracking what the word is than literally thinking stuff has gender. Originally there was a proposal to call it left and right to make it clear that it’s just a split.
I feel like when you say that out loud it’s actually very easy to understand due to intonation.
Maybe people didn’t live long enough for skin cancer to make a difference?
