This is why we need better resource/battery management services with Magisk or Xposed integration. On my phone the Rom has one integrated already, lets you set apps to be prevented from running in the background completely, preventing tracking, annoying notifications, and battery usage. Though unfortunately these types of tools aren’t available on all roms, and they really need root or system access to be effective.

Also doesn’t have very good touch support, forget wayland vs x11, the interface of KDE just isn’t suited for touch screens, using it on the Steam Deck is incredibly frustrating because the interface is so small and requires scrolling more often than not.

I bet it’ll be a while before it’s available on Steam Deck. So I won’t get to see it until then.

You technically don’t need a license to fish, but without one you’ll have to do it in a way they won’t know you’re doing it. You may also have to do certain unpleasant things to avoid punishment.

I very much agree. Instead of complaining and isolating themselves and their users, they could be helping improve the moderation tools which benefits all of us, but instead they choose to self isolate, which hurts their users while the biggest servers that they defederated forget they even existed.

Late Reply: This is going to sound harsh but it’s true. I wouldn’t miss it. If Beehaw disappeared tomorrow I probably wouldn’t even notice, and I’m sure that would be the case for many other people here. The problem is that because Beehaw has defederated so aggressively from the largest instances and shut its doors to new users, and people just moved on, or didn’t notice or care. I spent most of my first days on Lemmy.world and consequently didn’t see a majority of the content from Beehaw, but I did see many upset users who had to Migrate from Beehaw due to the defederations since most of the content and communities they wanted access to wasn’t available to them on Beehaw.

Since Beehaw didn’t (and still doesn’t) have community creation enabled it never really had niche communities like other instances did, it is rather forgettable because of that, what most people will remember it for though is the defederations and having to migrate accounts to not be cut off from the rest of the fediverse.

Maybe for you they do, but we don’t know what he’s been though. Personally I’ve been through some really awful shit and when I was in the worst parts of my life I know that a skirt wouldn’t have made me feel better. I’m not going to say what they are because I don’t really want to think about it too much, but I’ll say it was tragic and traumatizing.

I’m not a smoker, I’ve never smoked but I have fantasized about… let’s just say ‘leaving this world’ more than most people, who don’t have PTSD.

I should say I’m not in that place anymore thankfully and my life has gotten much better.
