Happily married West Virginia writer and IT professional. Cat and dog lady.
The Shire. I’d just live in my Hobbit hole, eat second breakfasts, and take long walks. Peaceful!
Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitch, etc. The work is meditative, and you get in a groove waiting to see what the next row or stitches will look like. Producing an object feels productive, and gives a feeling of accomplishment.
Choose bright colors and fun patterns, and it’s a lot of fun. There are patterns for all interests, so don’t think this is the realm of only little old ladies. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Amen. And he got screwed from the Reddit api fiasco. If i remember correctly he was on the hook for as much as $250k in refunds because he’s had to shut the app down and refund subscribers.
The guy has to make a living, so I don’t begrudge him that one bit.
What’s the issue with WhatsApp? I thought it was great for privacy.
Thanks! I’m really enjoying the app. Thank you for all the work you’re doing.
If I could upvote this a dozen times, I would. Well said.
Let your wife handle it.
Something I took a long time to learn is “Don’t borrow trouble.” You’ll run into plenty of problems throughout your life, so there’s no need to expend energy on those that haven’t happened yet. Yeah, I know that’s easier said than done. :)
Remember that you are smart and capable. You can handle whatever life throws your way, and life has a funny habit of surprising us. What you’re worried about often doesn’t happen, but other surprises do come along, both good and bad. You can do your best to prepare, but the reality is that you’ll face things you don’t feel prepared for, and you’ll be OK.
You may love the job, or you may hate it, but you will probably hate the fact that you gave up the opportunity if you don’t go. Being apart may make you a stronger couple, or it may make one or both of you realize you want to move on. That could happen regardless of where you are, even if you stay physically together. You have a wonderful opportunity, and I encourage you to take it.
I’m anxious to see what happens in the next few days and weeks. I think Reddit will bring the big subreddits back online with new mods if they have to. The smaller subreddits, though, may not be worth the effort to Reddit, and those are the ones I’ll miss the most. I’m hoping some make their way here, but I suspect many won’t.
I’m glad to be here, and I’m looking forward to see what this brings.
Was going to suggest the same, so thank you! And thanks for working on the app - it has to be crazy stressful.
Hoping to see fo76FilthyCasuals show up on Lemmy!
I have it installed, but I haven’t had a chance to use it much yet. Just in the browser now. :)
Fallout 76. Nice community, and I really enjoy the open world game and the dark humor that’s Fallout.
I’ve been following hashtags on Mastodon, and that has worked pretty well for me. Still, it’s not the forum layout that I enjoy, but it’s still useful.
MLEM is the one on iOS. And yes, you do need TestFlight for it.
