They’re all fun and games until you’re in stop go traffic. I agree though I miss driving a manual. Also they were easier to work on and tended to be cheaper to fix. That might not be the case anymore considering you’re pretty much guaranteed to to have to special order parts.

Where I worked we had a bigass map broken out into a grid. If you didn’t know where an address was you could pull out a huge book that had the grid sectioned by street/block address (at least where I worked). So for example if someone had 12013 Lemmy Ln. You could look up in the book Lemmy Ln. Block 12000 and find it was on A4. You learned the entire service area pretty damn quick so like 99% of the time you knew where it was off the top of your head.

It was fun as fuck. Like the most fun job I ever had. I wish money wasn’t as important cause I would’ve done that job for the rest of my life.

Why would you need to defend yourself for ordering a pizza and being shocked by the high price? Sometimes I think I’ve gotten too old for the internet. People should be allowed to order a pizza every once in a while and not have to formulate a 5 point list of the reasons why it’s okay for them to order pizza.

Feel your pain. Did the same thing for about a decade and it wasn’t awesome. At the end of it I felt like all I did was commute, work, commute, and repeat the next day. Barely saw my family. Hope it gets better for you though!

Sure as well as every other social media platform since the inception of the internet. I remember seeing Flat Earth insanity on myspace, digg, and even fark. But no one runs around and claims flat earth was popularized on those sites. What they’re saying above isn’t based in reality unless you’re willing to say the same about every single social media platform.

Even if you inherited your parents property if you already have one you should have to pay extra taxes on it from the day they die until the day you sell it, period.

This seems needlessly callous to me. At least give them a 6-12 month period to clean up, do repairs, and sell the house. Not everyone that inherits a house is making enough to pay increased taxes right out the gate like you’re proposing. Also, from personal experience, cleaning houses of deceased relatives tend to require a bit of work to get ready for selling and is incredibly emotionally draining. What you’re proposing is going to be extremely painful for the people at the bottom, and emotionally wracking, since as soon as a loved one dies you’re now under the gun to sell.

I agree though, second homes should be extremely heavily taxed. I just think we need to approach it with an even hand and make sure that we are targeting big corporate rental agencies and the very wealthy, and not some family that just lost their parents/grandparents. Something about targeting those people seems needlessly aggressive and not really the intention being discussed…

I don’t remember the Star Trek storage callout cause they were generally pretty good about just fabricating their own units for stuff (future sci-fi writers should take note, it’s always easier to make up units then deal with pedantic people on the internet).

So in the US when we want to make something illegal, and that thing happens to be a constitutional right, we levy a tax against it. Then we only issue tax stamps to very select few people, or simply refuse to issue them at all. NFA 1934 is one of those weird tax scheme that makes you obtain a $200 tax stamp to have certain types of weapons. They are heavily controlled and non-transferable without going through a similar process.
