- A Woman of No Importance
Love these. A Woman of No Importance is a fantastic Virginia Hall book. Just fucking amazing the shit she did.
Others in this genre: Code Name Lise, D-Day Girls, and one of the many Nancy Wake books - Code Name Helene, Nancy Wake: WWII’s Most Courageous Spy, etc.
And you can also get the SOE Manual.
We need people like you to resist when you feel like it’s the right thing to do. You took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. As cringe as it may sound, we need you and others like you to do that now more than ever…because there is an obvious threat.
The fact that there are no other images of this is odd, but assuming it is at an early voting location today, perhaps they are pretending to be “ghost voters”:
As that drama played out, readers asked Snopes to look into social media posts and media stories reporting that multiple counties in the U.S. had more registered voters than voting-eligible residents. One such story was published by the Washington Times and headlined, “Judicial Watch finds 1.8 million ‘ghost voters’ in 29 states, warns of ‘dirty elections.’”
Judicial Watch, a right wing legal activist organization, claimed to have discovered in an October 2020 study that “353 U.S. counties had 1.8 million more registered voters than eligible voting-age citizens.”

No, because a UFO is subjective. If you’ve never seen an airplane or a drone before, it may be a UFO. To most other folks, it’s an IFO.
I feel like google cache has been gone for years. Remember when you could choose to see the cached version of almost any site that came up in your search results? I want to have nice things again.
This looks like a cool service, but I can’t find their subscription plans/cost anywhere on the website. It looks like I have to sign up for the free trial without knowing how much I’m on the hook for if I forget to cancel in time, and that seems sus.
Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you for your service!
Wow, this is impressive research! Thank you for taking the time to be so thorough.
I was also referencing the Nazis being big on animal welfare overall and passing laws against animal cruelty.
It’s always been ironic to me that they passed laws banning cruelty to animals, but went out of their way to find more efficient ways of murdering large groups of people. I guess it shouldn’t.
Apologies for the Wikipedia link, but the fact that some of the laws in place today in Germany came from the Nazis is so weird imo.
The current animal welfare laws in Germany were initially introduced by the Nazis.

Hitler would approve of this viewpoint.
Holy fuck I did not need to know this was a thing :(
“Houses shouldn’t do that. That house is like a boat now.”
Obligatory Colbert shoutout:
During his visit, Trump made a number of comments about a boat that had been shipwrecked on the property of a survivor and homeowner in New Bern, North Carolina. These included statements such as “at least you got a nice boat out of the deal”; “Is this your boat? Or did it become your boat?”; and “To see what we’re seeing – this boat, I don’t know what happened, but this boat just came here.”
Oh, right! I get that, but it’s just so on the nose that it could be in either. Sadly, it’s not satire.
PSA for those in the US; the Urgent Care type places that advertise “ER” in their title will be absurdly more expensive than “regular” Urgent Care places that do not advertise as such.
The reason is that the “ER” places have actual ER type equipment, but regardless if you use them or not, you will be charged as such.
Maybe this is common knowledge, but we learned the hard way when my partner went in for something very benign and we received a $1,000 bill, even though we had insurance.
These “ER” places are popping up everywhere, and there’s nothing to tell you that if you go down the road a block or so, it could make the difference between a cheaper co-pay and owing the full amount. In our case, almost $1,000.
this could be in c/nottheonion
I’ve never seen the signs allowing you to opt out, so this is good info.
But to add onto this topic - what is up when 2 people walk down a designated walkway while in line and the officer follows alongside them with the dog?
I’ve never even heard of it but now I’m intrigued.
A bidet.
But seriously - you and others already mentioned the quesadillas, so I’ll add pintos and cheese as a side.
It’s just beans and cheese and their sauce in a little bowl but it’s good.
Also, do they still have meximelts? Can’t remember if they did away with them or not. Oh and gorditas.
Where was Nickleback on the list?
