This will almost certainly be a false positive, its a heuristics(I think that’s the correct term) based detection, basically just matches certain characteristics of files that have been related to that trojan.
These days Defender has exceptional real time malware scanning capabilities, it often picks up stuff as you download it or even as it executes. If this was a detection of an existing file, its very likely a false positive.
Was this taken from the Crowdstrike repo?
Sonic I think? Never watched it but the boots in the bottom picture look like Sonic
So thankful for John JavaScript who came up with the JavaScript language back in 1845!
I mean, its possible.
But then again, people have now known the beauty of steam. If this does happen as you say it could, it does open up the possibility for someone to make a Steam_v2.
I have faith that there are enough people who are passionate about Linux that it’s possible for Windows to lose some of its dominance in the future. Maybe the enshittification of steam is needed to make that a possibility.
It could be a number of things that people have mentioned in here.
Just allow yourself to do what you actually want to do. If you feel like you actually want to watch movies or TV shows then you need to consciously stop picking up your phone.
At the same time, if you only want to watch a movie or TV show because its what you “think” is expected of a “normal” person, stop. Just let yourself lay on the couch/bed and scroll.
We place too many expectations on ourselves these days to be doing certain things, instead of just doing the things we actually want.
If you’ve ever managed or monitored a corporate firewall, you’re honestly doing yourself a disservice by not using an adblocker these days. The amount of malicious advertising that corporate firewalls block these days from employees on the internet is astounding.
Legitimate as traffic accounts are constantly hijacked by threat actors as its such an easy way to spread malware and compromise machines.
I’m also not a fan of MS spyware.
But in defence of the MS authenticator, the 2FA prompts it sends are very convenient, how they pop up and ask for the number displayed on screen, its definitely more secure than just the one time code.
Plus it also shows what phone the user is using when they install and configure the authenticator app, this is also very useful if you suddenly see the user accessing their mail or one drive from another mobile device.
How are acts such as this not treated the same as though one person had decided to do this to 5 people? What’s the point of a CEO or Director if not to step in at times like this and do the right thing? And if they don’t, they face the consequences.
I understand its all legal BS that negates the responsibility, but it just doesn’t seem logical regardless of how its framed.
Something like this to restore the fun mindless games of the 2000’s is definitely needed. Basic HTML webpages with links to ad free browser games, the internet had so much fun free stuff for kids, now its like 5 websites that track your every move
Shit like this is why I stopped using my TV connected to the internet. The way the TV’s also end up slowing down is so annoying too, just leave it off the internet and connect a laptop or pc
It’s an interesting argument because creators are totally at the mercy of YT in this aspect. If YT says that the audience are using adblockers etc, it’s extremely difficult for the creator to dispute this. Whilst I’m sure out of the goodness of their heart(/s) YT has something in place to accurately detect this but then again, no system is 100% flawless 100% of the time
I seriously didn’t believe this was a real article until I found it myself 😂
Sounds like a Netflix romcom
Unfortunately it only happens in waves… It just has to be inconvenient enough for people to put in the effort to move to lemmy
I just used ublock to remove the stupid pop-up in the middle of the screen. Maybe I’m just lucky but all my videos play fine?
+1 for forms. It’s pretty straight forward and intuitive and is easy to get up and running quickly. Anything else which you want to run locally will take a substantially more effort
Omg let me try!! ********
