A few weeks ago I stopped at a mcdonalds and caught what looked like the manager packing burgers with his bare hands. Like, grabbing the patty, bun, lettuce, everything without gloves. I tried to take a picture but he saw me staring and put some gloves on.
In trms of the vibe that the title gives off, I guess. First category is a fairly serious-sounding, usually 1 word title, and the second category seems to be a grab-bag of silly titles and titles where the first word is “______'s”
Something about boys maturing slower than girls, I’m sure. Jk it’s what you said
Really! That does surprise me
Channels with absolutely zero drama that are still active and I would describe as " interesting content made by someone who cares about it" :
cracking the cryptic: solving sudoku puzzles twice daily
chessnetwork: explaining famous chess matches and occasionally playing online chess, but with none of the bro culture that has grown up around chess recently
Folding ideas: great video essays about film or modern phenomena like NFTs
Technology connections: already reccommended, but in depth explanations about how electronics work
Language Jones: videos about linguistics and learning new languages
Numberphile/StandUpMaths- interesting math videos
Love your account name
Specifically, it’s percent of adults who have attempted, not completed. I don’t think anyone in this thread is suggesting it’s the latter, but that was my first thought when I saw the statistic so I thonk it’s an important thing to note.
Also if you believe the stories ive heard from pizza chains like Papa Johns and Domino’s, sawdust is regularly added to pizza dough to make it cheaper to produce
It served as a source of novel pleasure, now it’s just pleasure. Something else that’s new and exciting could be what you’re looking for, just make sure it doesn’t turn to excessive drug use or something else thats irresponsible
They’re just taking an educated guess. Based on fossil records we’ve estimated that homo sapiens sapiens emerged about 200k-300k years ago. I’m not sure if they assumed a middle ground estimate of 250k years here, but it was probably something like that. If we’re measuring by years, the margin of error is huge, but when we’re estimating the total number of people, it doesn’t matter that much, because there were so few of us for so long.
To be fair, that’s just the culture that’s come up around the game. You have to plan how you play if you want to “win” in the first 2 years, but the only thing you get is a few candles lit in your backyard, and you can still “win” in later years if you play more slowly. You absolutely can just plant some stuff around a sprinkler, sleep until they are grown, and do everything you want to do without being at all efficient with it
You could just get one-star yu-gi-oh card and boom, you’ve got a 1000/1000 that you can play without tapping anything. Unless your opponent has removal or something, you’re winning as soon as it can attack
Yeah its a pretty famous demonstration of the fact that we learn grammar seperately from individual words. IE most people add s to the end because thats what we normally do when we have a plural, even though we dont know what a wug is
Sarah and the Safe Word have some absolute bangers
Ooh, thats sounds right up my alley. Used to love civilization and stellaris and those types of games, but war was always my least favorite part of the gameplay. It gets in the way of my perfect empire.
I recently learned that the guy that wrote this song is Neil Cicierega, who is also responsible for Potter Puppet Pals AND makes music under the title of Lemon Demon, which I had independently started listening to a few years ago. Funny how one guy is responsible for so many things that I’ve enjoyed over the years
