Holy shit this is a blast from the past. This show was my jam as a kid. The animation has aged horribly, but I’d be so down to watch the whole series again.

My favorite one recently is constantly telling me to keep straight to remain on a highway like 7 times before I need to actually get off the highway. Glad I turned off the sound a long time ago otherwise I would have lost my fucking mind.

I was honestly getting so frustrated the other day at work when searching for something very specific and coming up empty handed. Tried DuckDuckGo and even fucking Bing and found what I needed in a matter of seconds. Google search is trash now. I have to go to the second page or further just to find something that isn’t an ad, AI response, or reddit. None of which are helpful.

Fuck Elon Musk, but don’t discourage human curiosity and stupidity. There’s nothing humans love more than conquering an impossible task. Humanity would have never made it as far as we did without people doing stupid and crazy shit. Humanity is the kinda species that just says “fuck it, we ball” and then proceeds to just do exactly what they shouldn’t do. Shit like walking across ice sheets to new continents because why not and go to the fucking moon.

Someone will figure it out eventually. Might take a couple hundred years (if we don’t kill ourselves first) but we’ll get there.

It’s just the new trend. One person starts it and has a successful video, and then everyone else follows it regardless of whether or not that was the reason for success. But I’ll take it over constantly using jump cuts every 5 seconds. That shit has been obnoxious for years. Most of the things I watch on YouTube these days are educational stuff so I don’t see either of these things that often. The only time I’m okay with the multiple angles is if they use it as like a “tangent camera” for when you know they are going off script or just expressing their opinions on what they are talking about. You know, an actual reason for two cameras instead of just “oooo look at me.”

The YouTube trend that’s been pissing me off are the YouTubers that change the thumbnail and title an hour after it’s posted because it’s not getting enough views and then make a community post talking about how it’s the best video they ever made.

Kids are gonna find ways to vape. It’s just the way it is. Just like when I was a kid we all found ways to smoke. Making it more difficult just gives them more drive to “get away with it.” Sometimes I feel like all these preventative measures that people come up with were by people that were never even a kid. Like banning fruity flavors. I started smoking when I was 14 and it wasn’t because it tasted good.

Are we doing AI generated memes now? Is nothing sacred?

I feel like this can be age and maturity specific as well. When I was like 14 to like 21 I was a love bomber. I had never been in a real relationship and I didn’t understand how to express myself. To my misfortune, the only thing I had to go on was movies. It’s the same kinda situation like having unrealistic expectations about sex by watching too much porn. Because of this I always went over the top thinking that’s what you were supposed to do. I didn’t understand the differences between infatuation and love until I had my first real relationship. Put a lot of things into perspective after that and I realized how much of an asshole I was being.

You should definitely know the signs and should definitely do what is listed. I’m just saying sometimes it comes from confusion and ignorance and not just malice and manipulation. The issue isn’t black and white. But at the same time, even if someone is doing it out of ignorance I still believe everything above is true.

I’m not sure what my point is besides sharing my experience. I guess that sometimes the one love bombing might just be someone that is lonely and isolated and doesn’t know what to do. But that shouldn’t change how you react to them. Boundaries are important and this can easily be a very bad situation even if they are a good person.

I’m not saying this ruined my day. But I’m not saying it made it substantially better either.

I almost feel bad for you guys. You guys are gonna feel old a lot sooner than I did. The way I spoke was still relevant at least until I was 23ish and then slowly tapered off.

Just take solace in the fact that when you guys are all my age you’re gonna cringe so fucking hard at the way you spoke you’ll collapse into a black hole. It happens to all of us so it’s probably better if you know less.

I hate that I understand that. I don’t have kids, I just have a friend that uses all that lingo even though he’s 30. He’s super cool, but super cringe some times lol.

Never really thought about that but that makes a lot of sense.

That was one of My favorite things about Crunchyroll. I love going through the comments after finishing a series and seeing what others were thinking. I know anime fans can be pretty crazy, but I very rarely saw toxic comments. It was mostly people talking about a shared experience and was surprisingly wholesome the majority of the time. I even got some good recommendations about what to watch next because of it too

Honestly all these companies trying to use AI to replace their workers is pretty funny when you consider that their job is probably the easiest to replace. In fact, AI is a bit overkill. Really all you’d need is a semi reliable algorithm to do the shit they do. I’m not surprised The Onion sees this too.

In that regard I definitely agree with you. It could even just be the people I associate with. If anything the people that have given me the most shit for it are other guys that I have as friends.
