I got banned from a… what are we calling them… sublemmy?.. on here for being ‘aggressively negative’. I voiced my disapproval of a character that I didn’t like in a TV show, which included one F-bomb. Some people on here are way too sensitive.
Leigh can be pronounced like ‘Lee’ or ‘Lay’
You can have a use for something, and you can also use something (first one is pronounced the same as the end of ‘papoose’, second one is pronounced the same as ‘ooze’)
Yes, English is weird.
‘Bough’ and ‘cough’ are not pronounced the same. ‘Bough’ and ‘bow’ are pronounced the same. ‘Knee’ and ‘Leigh’ are pronounced the same. ‘Neigh’ and ‘nay’ are pronounced the same. ‘Polish’ (the nationality) and ‘polish’ (as in what you do to a metal object) are not pronounced the same. ‘Tear’ (as in to rip) and ‘tear’ (as in to cry) are spelled the same, but not pronounced the same. Other words which are spelled the same, but pronounced differently:
resume / resume present / present record / record close / close use / use live / live
It’s hard to say as it’s over so quickly! I tried to download it so I could loop it in vlc, but this site doesn’t allow that.
Looks really, really cool though. I used to mess about in after effects, made some pretty trippy stuff but nothing 3d / of this caliber
I assume this is supposed to loop, the site it’s hosted on doesn’t work for me… gets to 2.9 secs then freezes. Would look awesome looping, not so much as a 2-sec clip.
These streaming sites, even when they load the whole video, often don’t loop seamlessly… maybe it’d be better to loop it manually in whatever final comping software you used, and upload it as a 12sec clip?
I don’t get the hate for kale. Never would buy it after decades of reading how horrid it is… Decided one day to try it and found it’s actually refreshing and tasty, aside from the health benefits
I had two towels at once for a while, as I’m quite hairy. One towel didn’t feel quite enough to get ne fully dry.
4 towels seems a bit much if I’m honest!
This is probably a key factor.
This was about to be my response. Sometimes, when a 5.1 surround mix is forced into stereo output, it causes the ‘speech’ channel to sound quieter than it should.
Try sticking to non-surrounds sources OP if you don’t have surround setup
I’m getting a similar series of messages from tinder.
Got one match, went on one date, she’s awesome, prob going to delete tinder. But in the meantime it’s pestering me twice daily reminding me I’ve not opened the app since
SLS is in SO many products. Switching to a shampoo free from sulphates cured my dandruff and halted my hair loss.
Surprise, not rubbing surfactant into your scalp makes it healthier haha
One day, you’ll realise it was deep minimal organic afrotech dubhouse, and come to your senses
Might be a case of ‘build it and they will come’.
I’ve been writing dance music for about 20 years, I think the relentless pigeonholing of genres can get ridiculous, but if it’s within that cast array I might be able to help… Before someone else wildly disagrees :)
I browse lemmy a lot on mobile. When I first looked into lemmy mobile clients, they were read only.
This post inspired me to get Sync 4 Lemmy, now I’ll be commenting much more (careful what you wish for haha as I’m sure I will have opinions some don’t agree with, but hopefully can always debate rationally)
That’s awesome. Wish it was standard practice!
It’s quite scary to think that not only are kids not being taught logic, but many are being taught anti-logic; magical thinking etc. It blows my mind that right wingers screech about ‘grooming’ and indoctrination while they’re teaching their kids divisive skybeardguy nonsense. Literally grooming them to be religious.
Imo this is why they pushback and create false equivalence, because they know they’re losing their sad little foothold. Notice how whoever is downvoting comments in this thread has nothing to say.
Some ex ellent additions! Seeing as we’re all now well aware of each others’ religions, maybe they can replace the pointless RE (religious education in UK) class with a ‘Life Skills’ class.
My dad is a pensioner now, and got put in a lovely bungalow by local housing association. It came with with a lovely garden, and he was really excited by the prospect of a cherry tree.
Well, the cherries are ready, and the birds ate the lot!
