While I don’t disagree with your statement, this is what I was referencing:
The term “boomer shooter” is a playful reference to the ‘Baby Boomer’ generation who were the initial audience for these games.
I don’t think there is any doubt there.
In Straya, mate.

I like the name and it’s memorable but I dont believe FPS were intended for “boomers”, weren’t they aimed at Gen X/maybe early millennials who were the young adults/children in these timeframes? Games weren’t an adulting pastime back then, it was child’s play.
I bet there were a few boomers playing but Gen X would have been the dominant gaming generation.
I can’t believe Gen X have been forgotten again.
I always preferred the community “Fuck Lawns”. We are well past the point of “No” in this current stage of biodiversity collapse.
That’s just business.
If people use Facebook after the genocide in Myanmar and Cambridge Analytica then reddit will be fine?
I have the cheapest, portable IKEA hob. I found one website that stated the build internals are extremely cheap (it didn’t suggest which one to buy instead unfortunately when the person was obviously extremely knowledgeable in electrical engineering).
All the negatives aside and there are a few, it works perfectly fine for everything. I have an 8L pressure stockpot that fits on there to make cooking even more efficient. None of our pots or pans are too big for it.
Perhaps write a thread, with step-by-step text and photos/screenshots per platform? And then the next one to do would be a step-by-step video?
Example, I’m not technically minded, but have an Unraid box with a 1Gb connection. There are extra steps there that I’m aware of but have no idea how to do because it’s over my head.
I know you know about this but for other readers.
I saw, I just was pressing back and I got worried you had already done it before I made my comment. Was worried I looked like an idiot!
Not popular but you have to help change that. Crosspost from here into it.
If it’s the first time that has been searched by a user of your instance, it takes time. Subsequent people using it and searches will be quicker.
@SuitedUpDev@feddit.nl is right, basically.
This is what I’ve done and at this point, I prefer to Jerboa, feels exactly like an app.
Since no one mentioned it,
Stabbot - the video stabilising bot to fix videos that the uploader didn’t bother with.
Songfinder bot seems handy to prevent earworms.
Plus a lot of the other ones mentioned. Just helpful bots with a distinct purpose that come in when asked to save time or educate.
This is one animal that I wish was invasive. If they developed the ability for them to chew through barbwire as well as takedown beef and dairy cows, then they would be perfect for our area.
Yeah, I get ya but when you scroll that list you can see why it’s a hard topic to reply to. There is a lot of fun to be had!
I hope it continues to be worked on.
I could see a resurgence of discussion and some real niche communities hiding behind that layout. Perhaps some themes to recreate other old forum styles too.
The piece of string is very long!

You may need to work backwards, identify a service as a need and then figure out which software to run.
Lucky that lemmy has that nostalgia covered - https://fedibb.ml/
Agreeing with this one.
Except I made a Mastodon account to pad its numbers to make Elon feel bad and used the Mastodon account to follow Lemmy (and just used the site sans account). Once the API changes were announced, all in to make reddit feel bad with larger numbers over here.
Phone is grapheneos, use Linux, all FOSS; why did I take so long to do this? Either this or quit all social media.
This is an amazing story.
