Powerpop. What’s not to like? Jangly guitars, vocal harmonies and killer hooks.
Except the US Federal Court determined that Google has indeed engaged in anti competitive behaviour. Gemini apparently doesn’t want to share that little nugget of information.
Nah, use Signal. It just works
Can’t agree more. I’ve got it in my collection but (after many years and many attempts) I simply can’t make heads or tails of it.
Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band. It’s essentially unlistenable.
Does Textra do auto txt forwarding?
Yeah, I guess that makes sense.
Well, it does if our entire justice system is based around the concept of free will.
I love your comment: “The second best time to plant a tree is today”. Not sure if it’s a quote you’ve reused but, from here on in, I’m using it.
I much prefer Lemmy, when RIF shut down I migrated and never looked back. Lemmy isn’t as crowded as Reddit became and reminds me of how Reddit used to look and feel.
I also signed up to Mastodon and between the two (Lemmy and Mastodon) get all the information and entertainment I ever got from Reddit without all the dickheads that now populate Reddit.

The ability to turn most traffic lights green (not all of them just, like 90%), would basically be the reverse of my current super power of turning most traffic lights red
The only app that seems to work for me is Summit. All the rest have issues logging out/in
Incredibly underated skill
To be honest, I’ve been dissatisfied with Reddit for quite a while now but just didn’t realise it. Once I dipped my toes into the Fediverse I realised what it was I’d been missing: that sense of community that Reddit used to have before it became too big, too cold and too corporate. In my defence I used RIF for years and was shielded from the worst excesses of corporate culture. After setting myself up on Lemmy and getting a bit of a handle on what’s what I’m really enjoying the sense of intimacy and DIY ethos. It’s far more like the Reddit I used to know. It feels good to be back.
Seriously, if we wanted to see Facebook memes we’d be on Facebook
Invest in you old age: Superannuation or some other savings device. You need to put on as much as you possibly can as soon as you can but this needn’t mean you plow all your income into it straight away. Transfer or invest as little as $20 per week initially, you’ll never miss it and after a few weeks or months keep increasing the amount till you’ve reached your ceiling. Reinvest your earnings or dividends, compound interest is a beautiful thing.
