  • And yet, us ahem “Blue Maga” are also the ones who fight for abortion rights. We want justice, not just equality. We hate wars, and dislike people who lie selfishly for gain at the expense of others. We also recognize that not everything can be fixed by anger and good intentions, that there will be setbacks and total failures. Many of us also still have hope and will fight for the rights of even those who view us somehow as their enemy. This is why you see so much less anger directed at you or even at actual MAGA supporters.

We’re angry that they’ve allowed themselves to get duped so badly. We’re angry that malicious and evil idealism has even managed to take hold. We’re angry at the generations who sat on their hands. We’re angry, just a little, at one another for never coming to agreements. While you’re busy hyperventilating, take a moment between gasps to consider your position. Why did we go to Iraq? Who continued pushing for wars? Who benefits the most? Which party fights so hard to stop Veteran care?

Be angry, just make sure to point it at the correct people.

  • Oh yes absolutely, I agree that environmental factors play a role, and that role varies in intensity and direction. Looking at what limited historical evidence I know offhand it appears that the female form has been more consistently sought after. Of course, this could be due to the fact that my historical context are the Romans, Greek, parts of indo-asia, and a sprinkling of Japan. So a rather wide swath of places like South America and Africa aren’t really known.

I don’t have enough knowledge. It just seems from what I do know that there is some significant focus on this, or maybe just less focus on males in general.

  • This is interesting. Bear with me, it’s 2am, I’m overtired, and this is purely for discussion. Also, this caught the attention of my adhd, so if I try to ignore it I probably won’t sleep at all. Anyway, I wonder if it has some basis on how sexuality is represented in the brain in gay men vs gay women. I’m reasoning this because, well…

    1. Lesbians: Like the boobas and butts of other women. According to reports women also tend to swing more loosely with their sexuality.

    2. Straight Women: Even women who identify as straight can be attracted to other women sexually, just not intimately. They like to also look.

    3. Gay Men: From my experience in life, on Reddit, and here on Lemmy, gay men tend to lack similar appreciation for women. Predictably they find other men to be all the rage. There seems to be a more stringent sexual and intimate preference.

    4. Straight Men: Yet while straight men like the ladies, we also now know a larger population of males tend toward bisexual curiosity. We are also aware of the sexual repression still prevalent, though arguably less so than ever before.

So what am I getting to? Well, I believe that either gender has a genetic disposition towards the feminine form. On the same tree, both genders tend to enjoy the male form on the same level less. Could this be linked to some ancient survival mechanism a la reproduction? Why does it appear that the woman body is more popular with three of the four major categories and yet to gay men more often completely unremarkable?

I dunno, my brain is yelling at me to sleep. Could anyone add anything? I’m mostly curious and promise I’m not attempting to head in some unknown terrible conclusion someone is bound to try and rope it all into.

You can tell I’ve had some interesting responses from people on some subjects.

  • Getting the “lets assume this isn’t AI” out of the way:

I am somehow extremely disappointed that people who support this obviously corrupt and evil little man also have talents like art, and music, and probably others.

    sigh

Man, 10 years ago I was in the middle leaning Left. Now I am so far left most ideas from the Right feel atrocious. I mean, they are…you know what I mean though.

  • I’ve had it for AGES. I agree that ads have been a bit much and many websites almost unusable without Origin. YT Premium though has been fairly solid with a couple hiccups.

Admittedly, I use YouTube as my primary source of entertainment. So the price is easily justified vs other services.

tldr: Flaw can give a hacker access to your computer only if they have already bypassed most of the computer’s security.

This means continue not going to sketchy sites.

Continue not downloading that obviously malicious attachment.

    Continue not being a dumbass.

    Proceed as normal.

Because if a hacker got that deep your system is already fucked.

  • I was blessed with a strong body. Even as I age my reflexes are still there. My whole body coordination still exists. I am still strong, physically adaptable, and can lose weight easily. Any physical activity is not yet out of reach I’ve found. However…

    My metabolism has slowed.

    Injuries heal slower.

I have some pains I didn’t have before.

I do get tired more easily.

It catches us all in different ways. I’ve been luckier than most in some aspects, feel it I still do and it’ll only get worse.

  • It’s simple, yes?

We are born to live and in living eventually die. What we do during life makes no difference to us after we are gone, so far as we know. Therefore, in life we find reason to do. In doing, we find purpose. In purpose we find contentment. In contentment we find peace.

Thus life is just a goal to live the best we are able and find ways to be content in that life. This is why there isn’t a universal answer: What contentment looks like changes from person to person.

  • Gotta tell ya: The atrocities and stress of war doesn’t really seem real until you’re hunkered down in a cab because the truck in front of you took an IED, to use just one scenario. I could throw a few more your way if you like.

Having said that, and here’s the irony, not everyone in the military is “gonna face bombs and killing”. There are huge swaths whose job it is to do anything under the sun that doesn’t involve firing any form of weaponry. Chances are you’d have had to been paying attention at some point in school to know this, or something.

War is shit. The military has good and bad people, and often shit practices. For some people it’s one of the only ways, in the U.S. at least, to stand even a fleeting chance of doing more than becoming a low-rung manager at Walmart.

  • This is because of tolerance. Those on the left teach and preach it. They turn their noses up. Act like it isn’t there, or avert their eyes and call it someone else’s problem.

Bluntly speaking: Y’all spineless up until there is no other choice.

Last year or so I’ve both heard and read far less of the “I can’t protest because I need this job/money/don’t have days off/[insert excuse here]”. The writing has been on the proverbial wall for quite some time, in big bold neon, blinking letters. When you all stop arguing with one another, and stop working hard to displace responsibility, many on the Left have proven they can actually read.

Yes, I’m a bit annoyed. For years, both online and off, I’ve been saying the same shit. Recently, I’ve begun to feel vindicated, and you know what? It fucking sucks.

Hold hands, it’s up to us now.
