Ha! We have a similar brush. Daisy used to hate it and run away. Her being a long haired cat, we perseveredand now she demands a daily brush. Sometimes more. And the tummy rub is an evening thing. I have to sit on the floor, she’ll pick left or right side of me and then about 20 mins of tummy rubs.

This has been going on in some form or another for quite some time. There is an excellent BBC documentary by David Dimblebly from a few years ago that is worth watching. He travelled across Russia and this was going on all over. Ex military in schools teaching weapons drill and love for the motherland. Nor sure when it changed from motherland to fatherland.
