Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for, but I’d say the mystery of the dead bear cub in central park 10 years ago. This was minor news back then and basically was forgotten about, until RFK Jr. (former third party presidential candidate) admitted to being the person behind it, confessing it to a confused Roseanne Barr.
Not sure the genre or trope, but Poker Face (and 6 Feet Under), the additional subgenre for me is “who’s gonna die in the first scene”.
What do you mean building our own systems?
The TSA press office said in a statement that this vulnerability could not be used to access a KCM checkpoint because the TSA initiates a vetting process before issuing a KCM barcode to a new member. However, a KCM barcode is not required to use KCM checkpoints, as the TSO can enter an airline employee ID manually. After we informed the TSA of this, they deleted the section of their website that mentions manually entering an employee ID, and did not respond to our correction. We have confirmed that the interface used by TSOs still allows manual input of employee IDs.
TSA: lalala i can’t hear you, everything is fine, no issue here
These are probably comments on this Veritasium video which actually pretty informative.
That being said, I also live in a “first past the post” country that forces a two-party system and penalizes voting your conscience unless it aligns with one of those parties. While there may be flaws in Ranked Choice Voting that could emerge in fringe cases, it is so obviously superior to our current system that it is hard for me to worry too much about the nuance of how it might not be 100% perfect 100% of the time. Any (democratic) system is better than what we have now.
Even as your Boeing flight is falling out of the sky, they find a way to fail you one last time.
Sounds like someone accidentally created an account with your name. As someone who has firstname.lastname@gmail.com this happens a lot. About 10 years ago, amazon.ca allowed you to create an account and start using it without verifying control of the email address. I woke up one day and saw all orders someone made, their address, last 4 digits of their credit card number, etc. Customer service doesn’t care. Ended up having to reset their password to get them to stop.

That’s Tammy, Trey’s ex-girlfriend. This is classic Tammy. Trey broke up with Tammy because Maureen Kanallen said that she saw Tammy flirting with Walt Timny at a party, but she was only doing it to make Trey jealous because you know, she thought that Trey secretly liked Erin Henebry, but he doesn’t like Erin Henebry, it was all a bunch of bull.
Say you don’t know how the US electoral college works without saying you don’t know how the US electoral college works.
Donald Rumsfeld also holds the record for deflecting the most direct questions if he is a secretly a lizard person: https://youtu.be/qQ8L9OQZs1A
You should post this to !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com before I pirate this and post it there
A one time investment of $13.99 at 100% APR will be $207,620.61 in 10 years.
Biden resigning now just to make Trump’s hats invalid would be the best Dark Brandon move ever.
If we’re being pedantic, Harris already served as acting president for 1h25m on November 19, 2021 while Biden underwent a colonoscopy. If hypothetically Biden had died or resigned exactly 2 years into his term (January 20, 2023 12pm ET), and Harris assumed the presidency for the remaining two years, her total time would be over 2 years and she would be ineligible for a second term.
