I think it is obvious that the intended use is Easter eggs, and kinders in a pinch. Also, that sock drawer to keep socks cool in the summer is genius

This is dumb. Hand over development to bureaucrats? create a set of guidelines and requirements, and allow distros to be certified, and fund development of distros that are being used.
I’m a linux, sometimes windows, and android user. I own an iPad, because of the Affinity apps, not available on android.
The browser fuckery, and other restrictions, like no torrenting, for example, that Apple imposes makes me continuously consider selling the iPad. Only Affinity saves the iPad. I could not accept these limitations in my primary communications device. the Android experience may be less polished, but it’s because freedom creates inconsistencies. I’d much rather have the inconsistencies, along with freedom.
Goggle things you can’t do with iPhone.
There are a few ruggedized phones out there. I bought some cheap Oukitel phones to use as an order pad in restaurant I used to run, because I was fed up with two waitresses dropping and breaking pads. When I sold the business, I kept one. I use it mainly in my boat, as GPS, plotter, speedometer, weather…
The thing drops, gets wet, handled without care.
These phones exist. They are not top performance dogs, but can be quite decent. Why arent they in the front line? Because demand
True, but with the insulation upgrade you’d basically end up with a DIY fridge that will probaby cost more, work less well and fail sooner.
Modern heat pumps, which use the same principle as A/C, can achieve 4 to 1 efficiency. Old fridges can be tanks, but are horribly inefficient. A new high efficiency unit could probably pay itself off in 2 3 years.
I don’t buy new cars. I buy them 5-10 years old, and for a bit before, try to keep an eye on how many I see of them on the road. Not very scientific, but it gives you an idea of their longevity.
I was surprised, until I read the last paragraph. SEAT and Skoda have been the reliable VW brands for 2-3 decades, with the Ibizas and Octavias reaching mythical status. I read somewhere that some SEATs are actually rebadged VW china models. Great way for VW to squander reputation.
The big ass rocket engines in the back fueled by the massive fuel tank may disagree with you
I hate Musk and his personal everything, but Like SpaceX. However, when people gush about reusability, they seem to forget the 135 Space Shuttle missions (2 fatal failures , yes.). All done with 5 vehicles. Yes expensive etc, but truly amazing.
Also, I really don’t find anything SpaceX is doing revolutionary. Impressive? Yes, but it’s essentially incremental engineering, made possible by ginormous funding, including NASA money, and a private company doing things that NASA can-t politically afford.
Imagine NASA crashing 4 Shuttles before getting landing right. There’d be no NASA by now.
I’ve never heard this, But it’s great
At least there are no saltwater crocs in the US I mean, Autralia, sharks AND crocs in the sea! As a diver that gives me the willies!
The whole thing is brilliant. The Onion has been on fire lately.
“Apparently, George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) was fond of pointing out the absurdities of English spelling by proving that “fish” could be spelled “ghoti”, That is, gh as in rough, o as in women and ti as in palatial”
Do you know of a sketchup alternative
They look cool, but give me a Toledo sabre any day
Well, try a 10% of that in iOS/iPadOS.
They are cold blooded, so cold blooded…
Not the unipant, or the monopant, for that matter.
Spain is by definition an imperfect democracy. You don-t vote for people, but for party lists, so all the people in a list are bound to party rule.
