  • Probably Call of Juarez: The Cartel. I wanted to play the entire franchise back to back, but it wasn’t being sold on Steam, so I had to hunt down a copy on some key reseller. Boy, do I see why it’s not on sale anymore. runs like absolute shit, incredibly buggy, cheesy as hell and with some pretty questionable game design choices. Still, it was somewhat entertaining in a “so bad it’s good” sense, and it ties into the previous games in a fairly interesting way, so I don’t regret playing it. It was certainly an experience, but it’s a very bad game by pretty much all metrics.

  • Yeah, you got into Hirata Estate. That’s a semi-optional area that’s a bit too hard for when you first gain access to it. It’s really the game’s fault for giving you the bell thingy so early imo.

I definitely recommend giving the game another go. Don’t get me wrong, you will die a lot even when you follow the main path like you are supposed to, but the game is a bit more fair with the difficulty curve. Except for the Chained Ogre, that guy is just bullshit.

Lady Butterfly? She’s technically an optional boss and really meant to be fought a bit later. She’s an absolute pushover once you have some upgrades and actually know what you are doing, but if you are just starting the game she is way too difficult. It’s honestly kinda stupid that you are allowed to access her so early.

The actual first boss is Gyoubu, the guy with the horse. While also difficult for first timers, he’s much more doable than Lady Butterfly.

  • And not everybody has a house with a garage where they can charge overnight. I don’t want to have to look for a free charging point and wait around 30 minutes every few days. Also sometimes you actually need to drive far and a short range would be inconvenient or straight up impossible to manage if the charging infrastructure is not good. For example, I live in Bulgaria, in an apartment building without a garage. Even tho it is a small country, it’s quite easy to be very far away from a charging point because the infrastructure is poor. If I want to go visit my grandma, that’s a 300 mile drive, most of it through underdeveloped rural areas, which obviously won’t have a charger available. Until EVs match ICE cars in terms of range they are just not a viable option for me and quite a lot of other people.

Edit: just noticed this post is a month old. I have no idea why lemmy decided to show it in my hot feed.
