If you’re from the west coast of the US that seems to be a more West Coast thing. I recently went to Chicago and was amazed at how clean it was. The Lyft driver told me it was the cleanest city in the country (and possibly the world since he grew up outside of the states) but I wasn’t prepared for it. I walked everywhere in the city and there just wasn’t a single piece of trash anywhere. We actively looked too.

You don’t get to that level of wealth by getting haircuts from a stylist. He pinched every penny, got bowl cuts while his friends got specialty cuts, skipped the avocado toast and drank water instead of $5 coffees. Then his rich parents just gave him a small 10 million dollar loan and sent him to a prestigious school where only other rich kids went.

These days I’m usually against the death penalty, and I know it seems a bit harsh to advocate for this… but people entering in an exit door should be absolutely blasted with an Anti Aircraft gun (thanks Kim Jong Un for the idea!). It absolutely rustles my jimmies.

I always love when someone from a country with a homogenous ethnic and cultural background tries to tell me about how racist the US is.

The country most famous for the bidet trend is France and currently swimming in the Seine is still looking impossible. If my infrastructure is so shitty and 3rd world here at least my lakes, rivers and water ways are all clean enough for me to use.

Every country has its problems, but calling the US 3rd world is just your brain being full of straight negative propaganda. Simultaneously not every French River is unusable or every country filled with Bidets an actual mark of their progress. Go experience a country first before just talking shit.

I’m a former sysadmin (10 years) with 1 year spent working as cellphone repair prior to that. I could bang out batteries all day long for replacing. It’s not rocket science.

As a former sysadmin and MDM specialist I stay(ed) loyal to Apple because MDM quickly makes you realize what a cluster android is. Some phones allow for certain lockdowns in one profile while other Android OS’ wouldn’t be able to recognize it. Knox was attempting to do something akin to iOS for MDM, but even still it was missing a ton of features.

You know you can replace the battery, right? Like, 10 minutes with some basic repair knowledge and you can have it done. I usually do a battery replacement on my iPhone ever 2 years just because it will inevitably slow down and the battery life becomes unusable.

99 is quickly becoming a majorly trafficked freeway as the Central Valley is rapidly growing due to cheap land, well paying jobs and… a new high speed rail being built right alongside 99. It’s literally all the news about California’s “massive waste of money” high speed rail. I’m planning on high speed rail growing the valleys commerce and output due to ease of travel. However 99 is insanely small and has tons of rough patches and cracked roads due to decades of neglect.

126 million is small potatoes in this state. Especially when it’s likely that state, federal, and cities/counties are also kicking in money for this operation. Madera, Merced, Fresno, that whole stretch is growing like crazy right now.

I drive this route regularly (like 2 times a month) and I’ve literally never noticed the two trees. A cool rest stop visible one with an actual plaque to learn a bit about the location would be way more useful instead of a median tree that we’re supposed to understand while passing at 80mph.

Careful of the car detailing path. It starts with things like learning to not swirl your paint and occasionally decontaminating it. Suddenly you have a $1500 steam extractor and $800 polishers. I’m not sure if drugs are better, but sometimes I feel like they’d be cheaper. The high I get from cleaning my cars, or cleaning others cars though is totally worth it. My biggest hurdle was just getting a polisher and putting polish to paint. I was scared as hell about messing it up, but sometimes you gotta stumble to run.

He does the thing I enjoy seeing most. It’s not just enough to drink coffee. We have to know about it from top-to-bottom. How to pull from it everything we can. His science the shit out of it is one of my favorite things. If you like his sort of “honed” approach to something and you like details like him I’d recommend AmmoNYC for car detailing. He’s like the James Hoffman of car cleaning. It’s not just enough to do something, but to tear it down and figure out how to do the process better with science and perfect it.

James Hoffman has a great video about this with scientific analysis to prove it. Basically the people that claim they’re “coffee addicts” are often drinking something that isn’t caffeinated like one might expect. A good pour over has close to 80mg of caffeine in it, but a weaker Starbucks/gas station/K-cup/instant coffee has only 25-45~mg of caffeine per cup. You effectively need 3 cups a day to equate what you can get from 1 perfectly good quality cup of coffee. Even a Starbucks “double shot” is like drinking 7/8ths of a proper pour over. I have a lot of friends that are “coffee addicts” and drink 2-3 Starbucks a day.
