Lemmy pulled a CNN. Basically, all Trump news again.

No company owns every single Lemmy instance. That’s the only guarantee you are getting; however, that’s where all of the tiny differences come from.
I don’t do photo editing (Gimp) or drawing (Krita) but I have followed many aggregated blogs such as Planet KDE, etc over the years.
I got the feeling that most people have a hard time moving or transiting to Gimp. I have seen some posts from people who love Gimp but they seem to be a miniority. On the other hand, I got the feeling the drawing community love Krita and think it’s worth learning. Krita even shows up in unexpected places such as Godot tutorials on YouTube.
Yes, but same applies on windows. Window still needs to be maintained as well.
Personally, I think we reached the point where most users would be fine. Once they switch, then the more professional applications will come.
I wish Tumbleweed would be used more. It’s easy to install (but the installer is being rewritten anyways). Also, I have updated it on a laptop that was 2 years behind (because of lack of use). It updated perfectly and even proprietary software like Zoom just worked.
2023 was the year of the Linux Desktop. Wayland + pipewire gives us a base to have modern features but it took a long time to reach this point.
Because transgender (anti)rights have nothing to do with religion; it’s simply the transgender people’s turn to be thrown under the bus so the conservatives can continue virtue signalling.
You are very correct. This is why we argue so much on Lemmy; so many people think you have to pick between two sides.
Every topic has an opinion where the majority of people share that opinion. If you go against that opinion on reddit, you go to a niche sub or accept being drowned out. Here, due to the smaller population, there isn’t a viable way to maintain niche subs. That means we have to see each other’s opinions, thus you see arguments from polar opposites… Echo chambers?
It actually makes me realize that I should ask for the service fee ahead of time to make sure I can afford to eat at such restaurant.
That’s what a service fee does. Hides the true prices.
To be honest, it is manufacturing it. Who knows who has access to anything on Internet connected devices. Also, if all were places were as strict as Ohio on this matter, AI generated porn made with classmates would have been seen more serious before it spread.
Do you live in a place that gets lots of snow? I hear a car is practically immortal in California; unlike Ohio where the salt/brine destroying the car slowly every winter.
It’s kind of like using DRM to combat piracy in regards to multimedia. The Linux kernel is under a certain license and the kernel developers feel NVidia is encroaching on their IP in a way that is against the copyright. They won’t give NVidia an exemption despite their obvious importance in the hardware industry.
It may seem aggressive but look at how Nintendo, Disney, etc. regard those who break their own plans/trademarks. If you don’t take your own IP seriously, the law won’t either.
It’s weird how much racism I found in the last few days here…
Before bidets, Arabs used a gardening pale. I don’t know about other middle eastern cultures.
I would have never gotten that, when did the racists get so meta?
The only two communities I blocked were just a barrage of memes straight to the frontpage.
I don’t think I’m all THAT left leaning. I just like to be told I’m wrong… I may have problems.
Christ must really like those who help themselves; help themselves to that Elantra when they steal it…
Earthlings or the aliens? 😀
I would imagine the existence of aliens rattling atheists more than religious people.
Yes, those websites have Trump content as well but is it a majority of the front page?
