If you’re curious about the company Clearview AI, check out the book “Your face belongs to us” by Kashmir Hill. It’s an interesting read.
Back in the early days of Win10, an updated messed up my system and I ended up with duplicated icons. Wasn’t happy, but didn’t feel that it was that big of a deal to warrant a full reinstall.
2 years ago I built myself a new desktop and decided to try installing Linux straight away. Haven’t looked back since.
Another big fan of Darknet Diaries.
Ever since Michael Bazzle of Privacy, Security & OSINT stopped doing the podcasts, I’m still trying to find a replacement. Am listening to The Lockdown - Practical Privacy and Security in the mean time.
Also listen to Linux Game Cast.
I have it on my Asus Zenfone 8 too. Sad to tink that my next phone upgrade will likely not have the 3.5mm port anymore. :(
If Apple had kept the 3.5mm port, we’d all probably still be having it on our phones and not have to deal with flimsy adapters.
Bazzite has been smooth sailing about 80% of the time for me. The rest of the 20% were due to either plasma or runner crashing, requiring me to perform a hard reset using the power button. And then it magically atarted working again. I’ve also had my home folder become read-only on occasion. Very strange.
Noted. I guess used the wrong definition for Bazzite and that confused me. LOL.
Good to know that /etc is writable. I might have to download it and give it a spin. Thanks for clarifying.
Have not tried immutable distros, but I like the idea that the core OS is read-only to prevent a rookie user from messing things up.
Then again, if the core OS is read-only, is it at all possible to modify some system files like fstab files to auto-load drives?

I’ve just started deleting my stuff. Their mass delete doesn’t seem to work and it looks like i need to do it one at a time manually. Argh.
I’m a PC 😉
I’m using “Unexpected Keyboard” right now. I like that it’s different in that I dont have to long press a key in order to input punctuation. It’s a swipe from the center of a key to a corner and I think it’s that little bit faster. :)
Also doesn’t have auto-correct like other FOSS keyboards.
Never tried any of the Ultima series. :p
Origin “We create worlds”. They definitely did with the Wing Commander series. Played a lot of WC 3, 4 as well as Privateer.
I don’t think anyone mentioned Lionhead Studios. Black and White was fun. Sadly it’s in copyright limbo if I’m not mistaken.
Also played a lot of Civilization 1 from Microprose back in the day.
Agreed 100%.
Before I got my noise cancelling headphones, I was very aware of the volume that I have set when trying to watch a movie in a plane. After I got the noise cancelling headphones, I no longer have to set it that loud anymore.
That said, some airlines need to relook their volumes of their PA system. Some of them are shockingly louder than necessary. Lol
Drivers for the Tobii eye tracker do not officially exist.
The monitor with this “unresponsive button” issue is the Acer monitor, which is about 2 years old.
Back to the Future.
A normal Doc Brown wouldn’t have invented a time machine.
