Because there arent proper checks and balances.
So just like the corporate world and the us government the shitbags get in power and do whatever the hell they want with little to no repercussions.
The teamsters just went through that for years with that shitbag Hoffa jr. He just let the companies do pratically whatever they wanted.
Then you got stewards and shit who dont wanna do anything.
I didnt know any union reps/stewards until I went to managment.
Basically they only care about collecting dues and increasing their numbers.
They union doesn’t ‘demand’ anything beyond paying dues from its members so you’ve got tons of people who really think they can act however they want.
Complete lack of any sort of rules of conduct and no work ethic.
Unfortunately Unions get corrupted easy.
Yes they profit from vapes, but they dont have as large a market share, as ‘anyone’ can make vape juice.
I can’t wait to see Giamatti chew through the scenes. It’s gonna be epic.
I was thinking the other day about how I would love to explore some Star Trek ships in VR.
TIL Cessna made jet engines.
Ive only ever associated them with props.
This is pretty much me my whole life. I sweat super easy.
Also my brain itself doesn’t like heat. If you are familiar with Discworld, I’m basically a troll. The heat makes me dumb and unable to focus.
Im also super sensitive to humidity with breathing. When its warm and humid out I feel like I can’t breath.
If you want another good example of positive ‘capitalism’ check out Sam Reich and Dropout.
His father is Robert Reich (Former Secretary of Labor).
Sam is expanding Dropout at a sustainable rate. since its founding it’s had only one or 2 price hikes bringing the cost from like 3.99 to 5.99.
And they weren’t just arbitrary hikes. We got a lot of new content as a result.
He takes care of his employees. And more importantly he cares about his employees as people.
I think most of us who take ‘long’ showers are using it as a form of relaxation/meditation whether consciously or not.
Washing everyday can be excessive. rinsing everyday is good.
This is my retirement plan. No sarcasm.
In regards to another reply, there are multiple options of dealing with duplicates in calibre. From merging to deleting them.
It’s been a while since I had to do any library setup with calibre and Im kinda confused by what you are saying with “but it duplicates files when importing in a different drive where I don’t want ebooks”
Do you have multiple libraries in calibre?
Are you using multiple library managers?
Why not just use calibres folder structure?
And also if you don’t know about it - mobileread forums has been around a long time and has a whole section on calibre where you could probably get more specific help.
Fair point. All we really know about her character is the generalization of she is smart, tough, competent and funny.
She didn’t really get development.
I feel like this is related to the can’t measure the coast’ thing.
Like if you zoom in enough you are always traveling in a straight line.
The eating issue is less evolution and more societal.
Society is the one who says we should eat 3 meals a day, not evolution.
Evolution would rather we ate more often throughout the day.
Think of it like a gas tank. Currently people fill it up and wait for it to get empty before filling up again.
When the reality is its better to always keep a half a tank for emergencies.
I’d argue we should be ‘grazing’ more. Not just accept feeling bad.
I think we eat too much in one sitting. It should be spread out more.
Every couple hours we should be adding energy to our reserves not waiting 6+ hours.
Reduce needs to be the focus of manufacturers.
Even if we - the end user, reduce our usage enough that manufacturers ‘take note’ and provide us non plastic versions they will still use so much plastic behind the scenes that it wouldn’t make much of a difference.
Real question - WTF does market share have to do with this?
No one running a program like this is gonna care about “market share”.
Most are gonna be 'give me cheapest you got" even if that means buying HS students baby’s 1st computer from ‘Fissure Nice’ (because they aint gonna spend money that can go in their pocket for name brand shit)
It would all depend on the hired killer. Even the most horrible of people tend to have a ‘code’ they will follow.
