Not in any way defending terfs, however: lightening your hair is NOT cheap and just because your roots are showing (natural color is growing out) doesn’t mean you had a cheap service done. It just means it’s time for another one.

Regardless, we shouldn’t be attacking people for their physical appearance, even if they’re terrible people. Being pretty is not the rent women pay to exist in the world, and failing to live up to your standards of beauty is not a moral failing. That includes hair and makeup and body modification (Botox, piercings, tattoos) choices.

Edit: also Botox ≠ lip filler. (Sorry I can’t help myself lol)

The meme is satirical. It’s making fun of TERFs who think they can always tell a trans woman from a cis woman from appearance alone because they think they all look a certain way. Hence the “We can always tell” at the end, which is a line commonly spoken by transphobes.
The joke being that this is a ridiculously over the top example of somebody “identifying” a TERF by appearance alone, even though that’s not actually possible, just like it’s not possible for trans people either. A TERF cannot refute this meme without pointing out the flaw in their own logic, and that’s funny.

Yeah, accusations here quickly become nonsensical to indicate that’s ironic, but I would agree that they could’ve done a better job at not using the appearance for that at all

So you just posted a picture of some random chick who may have nothing to do with this, that tears into her physical appearance, and labels her as a terf, without knowing who it is?

Shit why not just use Rowling?

I found it! I’m 99% sure it’s a woman who went by @queen_awake_ (I think she deleted her Instagram and her tiktok is now private) but here’s an article about her: https://www.dailydot.com/unclick/transphobic-white-woman-zendaya/

Thanks to Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world, who posted an interesting YouTube video by Jammidoger in this thread. In that video he happens to mentions this woman and shows a picture. So I dug deeper and found that article.

She’s a transphobic conspiracy theorist and “teaches” people so-called “gender markers” to tell if someone is trans and believes all Hollywood celebs are trans and worship Baphomet, the trans idol apparently. Real wild shit, but yeah she’s a bigot so we can make fun of her for her shitty beliefs.

Edit: she’s part of “transvestigators” who believe those kinds of conspiracy things. The “we can always tell” crowd, so the meme is relevant to her.

Botulism is the poisoning you get from toxins produced by naturally occurring Clostridium botulinum bacteria. It can be a food-bourne illness and it’s the main reason you don’t give babies honey or peanut butter.

Botox is a treatment made out of it because it’s really good at blocking nerve signals so it “relaxes” involuntary muscles in the face that produce worry lines that make you look old. Derived from the name - BOtulinum TOXin. My dad has treatments to calm down involuntary twitches of his eye, and it works well for that.

        Bo Tox = Botulism Toxin.

It has a bunch of medical uses as well e.g. palsy, hyperhydrosis.

No you’re right, it would be “lip fillers,” not Botox.

But OP was too focused on attacking the appearance of a woman, without considering subject matter accuracy or whether it was fair to do so. 🙄

That’s kind of the point of the meme. They’re “identifying” a TERF by appearance alone the same way TERFs “identify” trans people by appearance alone. Neither is actually possible to do, and the only way a TERF can refute the meme is to point out their logic in believing you can judge people by appearance is flawed. The joke isn’t in the appearance bashing, the joke is in the that appearance bashing is clearly invalid and the more people who point that out, the easier it is to defend trans people when the same thing happens to them.
I can’t guarantee that was OPs intent in posting the meme, but it was certainly the original point of the meme.

Edit: Just realized I replied to the same person twice with the same thing. Probably didn’t need to do that. Sorry.
